Smile Well Medical Spa is a premium aesthetics clinic based in Vancouver, BC, offering medical spa treatments to both English-speaking and Korean-speaking clients. The spa is part of the same family of businesses as Smile Well Dental, and the project required building a digital presence that maintained brand consistency across the broader Smile Well ecosystem while establishing the medical spa as a distinct entity in its own right. Chrootly built a fully bilingual website using Next.js and TypeScript, with internationalisation handled through next-intl. The English and Korean versions of the site were developed as equal-priority experiences — not a primary site with a translated afterthought. The Korean content was written natively to resonate with the Korean-Canadian community in Vancouver, reflecting the cultural nuances and expectations of that audience. The site architecture ensured both language versions were fully optimised for search engines. The project demonstrated Chrootly's ability to build cohesive brand ecosystems across multiple businesses. By maintaining visual and structural consistency with the Smile Well Dental website while giving the medical spa its own identity, the result was a unified digital presence that reinforced trust and professionalism across both brands. The Challenge

Smile Well Medical Spa needed a bilingual website that could serve both English-speaking and Korean-speaking clients in Vancouver. The site had to maintain brand consistency with the existing Smile Well Dental website while establishing a distinct identity for the medical spa. The Korean content could not be a machine translation — it needed to feel native and natural to Korean-Canadian audiences. Additionally, the technical architecture had to support strong SEO performance in both languages.

Our Approach

Chrootly built the website from scratch using Next.js and TypeScript, implementing full internationalisation with next-intl. Both language versions were developed simultaneously, with Korean content written natively rather than translated. The design maintained visual continuity with the Smile Well Dental brand while adapting the aesthetics to suit a medical spa context. SEO was configured for both language versions, with proper hreflang tags, language-specific metadata, and structured data to ensure search engines correctly indexed and served each version.

The Outcome

Smile Well Medical Spa now has a polished, high-performance bilingual website that serves both English and Korean-speaking clients.
